Abacus Trust Company and Abacus Financial Services first achieved the Investor in People Standard in 2002 and were successfully reaccredited in January 2008.

Investor in People is a national standard which provides a flexible framework that helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the effective management and development of their people.

The Investor in People post review report from January 2008 noted 10 key areas of strengths within Abacus. These included effective communication with staff being regularly kept informed of changes within the organisation, a healthy approach and commitment to continuous improvement and effective management where the report noted that staff find their managers supportive, accessible and always willing to provide advice when needed.
