In spite of the recent economic downturn, the yacht industry has remained surprisingly active, albeit with prices of yachts having fallen. Indeed, for anyone seriously considering buying a yacht there are many bargains to be had at present.

Recently, members of Abacus’s yacht & aircraft department attended the Isle of Man’s first superyacht conference in Canary Wharf, London, in addition to representing Abacus at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show in Monte Carlo.

The superyacht conference, hosted by the Isle of Man Yacht Form and supported by the Isle of Man government, was extremely well attended by representatives from many sectors of the industry. The event was so well received that discussions are already underway for a subsequent event in the future.

The Monaco Yacht Show is considered by many to be the yacht show to attend, and this year’s event didn’t disappoint, with excellent visitor numbers and significant buying activity. Lisa Osland and Craig Brown were pleased to represent Abacus at the show, and in addition to meeting a number of existing clients who were participating in the show, they were encouraged at the number of potential new enquiries that they received.
