Chris has been associated with Abacus since 1984 and is a shareholder of the Group.
He was a partner in Coopers & Lybrand from the mid 1980’s until its merger with Price Waterhouse in 1998.
Following the merger of the two firms, Chris became senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Isle of Man until his retirement from the firm in 2003.
Chris was also a licensed UK Insolvency practitioner specialising in Receiverships and Administrations and is a former Chairman of the Isle of Man Society of Chartered Accountants.

Stewart joined Abacus in January 1993 when it was part of Coopers & Lybrand Isle of Man and became an Abacus Director and Coopers & Lybrand partner in 1995 and was later a PricewaterhouseCoopers partner until 2000.
A shareholder of the group, Stewart trained with and previously worked for a big four accounting practice.
Stewart has over 40 years’ taxation experience, with particular emphasis on the taxation of individuals, offshore trusts and companies. Active in business development and existing client care, Stewart regularly travels to the UK and further afield promoting Abacus’ services and managing client relationships.
Stewart is a Scottish Chartered Accountant, a member of STEP and of the Institute of Directors.

Emer joined Abacus November 1990, when it was part of Coopers & Lybrand, where she concentrated initially on the statutory administration of Isle of Man companies before moving into the trust department.
With over 20 years in the trust business, Emer has broad experience ranging from the administration of trusts and special purpose companies for wealthy individuals, employee share trusts and remuneration planning to yacht administration and Isle of Man partnerships.
Emer is a Chartered Secretary and was admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators in 1991 and became a Fellow of the Institute in 2013.
Emer is a regular jet-setter, when not away on business her love for travel takes her home to Ireland or holidaying around the globe with her family.

Paul joined Abacus as a Senior Manager in September 1996 when it was part of Coopers & Lybrand Isle of Man.
In April 2005 he was promoted to Operations Director and was appointed as a Director to the board of Abacus Trust Company Limited and Abacus Financial Services Limited in April 2006. In 2015 Paul was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Abacus Malta.
Paul has over 25 years’ experience in Operations, 20 years of which have been spent within the financial services sector. As head of Abacus Malta, Paul is responsible for overseeing its operations as well as continuing with his responsibility for IT and Systems, Finance and Administration, Compliance and Risk across the group.
Paul holds a BSc Hons degree in Applied Statistics and Computing, a Diploma in Company Direction and is a Member of the Institute of Directors, sits on the Board of the Isle of Man Association of Corporate Service Providers and is an Associate Member of the Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals.

Kevin has over 10 years’ experience in advising offshore clients, with particular regard to residence, domicile and the use of offshore trusts and companies for tax–efficient planning.
Kevin began his career training as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte before moving to KPMG to specialise in Tax where he qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor. He has a wealth of experience in the provision of international and UK tax advice having advised a wide range of clients including offshore funds, property structures, trustees of offshore trusts and high net worth individuals.
Kevin is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax.

Steven has over 20 years’ experience working in the offshore industry, initially administrating portfolios’ of trusts and companies and from July 2010 Steven gained additional skills in the tax department of a local corporate service provider, undertaking tax compliance, which he continues to do in his role at Abacus.
His clients cover individuals, trusts and companies in both the Isle of Man and United Kingdom.
Steven holds a BSc degree in Chemistry, he is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a member of the Association of Tax Technicians.

Sam is responsible for the management of a small team dealing with the administration of trusts and the management of companies and deals with the more complex engagements personally.
Sam is a qualified Chartered Accountant and formerly worked for one of the Isle of Man’s major accounting firms, with which she completed her accountancy training and acquired valuable audit and accountancy experience of investment property companies, hospitality companies and funds.

Elaine is responsible for the management of a small team dealing with the administration of trusts and the management of companies and deals with the more complex engagements personally.
Elaine has over ten years’ experience in the provision of Trust and Corporate services. She is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Kate manages a portfolio of clients, many of whom have trust and company structures involved in property and investments.
Kate holds the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management.
She is someone who is always busy with her hands. If not knitting or needle felting, green fingered Kate can be found at her allotment, tending to her home-grown fruit and vegetables.

David administers a varied portfolio of client structures including trusts and companies and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of assets ranging from yachts, income producing real estate, chattels and investment portfolios.
David graduated from university with a degree in Business and Management and has since gone on to complete the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management.
David loves anything with two wheels – if he isn’t riding with friends among the island’s plantations on his mountain bike he likes to live life in the fast lane by riding around on his motorbike.
Alison is responsible for the day to day management of a portfolio of client structures, including employee trusts, investment holding companies and family trusts.
Alison also assists with staff training on the company’s bespoke client administration system.
When not aiming an arrow she is aiming a lens. This budding photographer is also an experienced archer and is the Team Manager for the Isle of Man’s ‘Island Games’ Archery team.
Hannah provides administrative support to the trust and company teams. She performs a number of administrative duties for client entities, including bookkeeping, reconciling company and trust accounts, producing correspondence as well as providing statutory support.
Another of Abacus’ athletes, Hannah has a keen interest in running and walking, combining the two in both race walking and cross country.

Killian provides assistance to the trust and company teams. He assists with preparation of letters, filing of statutory forms, bookkeeping and carrying out administration tasks.
Killian graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in BSc Psychology (Hons).
Killian’s main hobby is playing golf and he is a member at Peel Golf Club. He also plays football, mostly 5-a-side and takes part in most other sports from time to time.

Thomas provides support to the trust and company teams specialising in all aspects of statutory and company secretarial work.
He provides assistance with statutory matters including incorporations, share allotments and transfers, change of officers, AGM’s, EGM’s and liquidations.
Thomas has completed a BA (Hons) Sports Studies through University of Central Lancashire and he is in process of completing a MA Business Entrepreneurship – University of Chester.
Thomas is a big football fan and regular gym-goer, keen golfer and traveller; he enjoys the summer season playing golf or travelling to hot countries.
With over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Andrew assists in the management of the Treasury function with the responsibility of overseeing the day to day administration within AbicoCash plc, Fund Administration and Shareholder Services.
Andrew is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys football in any format and can be found most weekends either playing 5 a side or watching a game or two on TV.

Les joined Abacus is February 2012 and was appointed Assistant Manager – Fund Accounting in January 2014. In 2016 he was promoted to Manager – Valuations and Accounts.
He has over 20 years’ experience in the fund accounting industry, affording him a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Les is responsible for overseeing the fund accounting team and managing valuations in the administration of a number of fund structures and partnership and plays an integral role in the launch process.
Les also provides guidance and support to Abacus’ funds function in Malta.
Les is an avid football fan and enjoys playing poker – some may say he’s lucky his card skills are better than the ball skills of his favourite football team!

Judith supports both business areas in the provision of corporate services to clients and in-house companies. Her role includes the take on of new clients, carrying out statutory work for a range of companies and keeping abreast of legislative, regulatory and corporate governance developments affecting the company.
Before joining Abacus, Judith worked at KPMG in a tax compliance and tax advisory role and at Stuart Smalley & Co where she completed a training contract to qualify as a UK solicitor.
From there Judith moved to Sovereign Trust (IOM) Ltd where she worked for four years in a legal consultancy role as well as being a client relationship manager.
Judith holds a degree in Law from Warwick University, and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law in Store Street, London.
Having three children her free time is quite limited, but when Judith does have time she loves playing the guitar and painting.
Cara is responsible for a number of the day to day shareholder and transfer agency services for the schemes we manage including, but not limited to, the daily maintenance of the shareholder and/or partnership registers, production and issuance of all subscription, redemption, transfer, call and distribution contract notes, the processing of all payments and acting as the first point of contact with the relevant shareholders, partners and other related parties throughout each of the processes involved.

Samantha has spent over 15 years specialising in VAT and Indirect Tax matters.
She initially began her career as a VAT Assurance Officer with HM Revenue & Customs in the UK carrying out VAT inspections, before moving on to work with two of the Big 4 accounting firms.
Sam has vast experience of Indirect Tax matters having worked with both domestic and international clients across a diverse range of sectors including the Remote Gaming, Financial Services, Yachting and Property and Construction industries.
Sam has a BA (Hons) degree as well as holding two Indirect tax diplomas, one in UK VAT and the other in Maltese VAT.
Sam offers VAT expertise across both Abacus’ offices and as Client Services Director, is responsible for leading the Malta team in the development of client relationships and enhancing technical skills with particular focus on the yachting industry.
Having two children and a husband leaves little spare time for hobbies but when Sam does have time she loves to be creative and enjoys baking and cake decorating.
Emma joined Abacus in April 2017 as a Senior Corporate Administrator.
Emma has over 7 years’ experience working within the Corporate Services Sector. She previously worked as a Senior Yacht Administrator for a well-known Corporate Service Provider in Malta, since she relocated to the Island in 2015 and prior to this she worked within the yachting department for a large Corporate Service Provider on the Isle of Man for over 5 years.
Emma’s role involves the day to day administration of a portfolio of client structures ensuring that clients receive the highest possible standard of service at all times.
Emma enjoys spending her time outside of the office outdoors and keeping active, especially in the Summer months. She is also a keen traveller and enjoys travelling to and exploring different countries and cultures.

Heather joined Abacus Malta in January 2017, working within the Client Services team. Previously employed as a freelance content writer/proof-reader, Heather aims to use the skills that she acquired to help her apply her keen eye for small detail within the office.
Currently, Heather is pursuing her academic goals on a part time basis by reading a Bachelor of Humanities from the University of Malta, specialising in Cultural Anthropology.
Away for her desk, Heather is an avid cook, spending her weekends experimenting in the kitchen. She also enjoys reading and writing, and generally being creative.
Irina joined Abacus in 2013 and is responsible for all aspects of fund administration in Abacus’ Malta office including the processing of client transactions, NAV calculations, shareholder services and preparation and reconciliation of accounting records.
She also deals with company and trust statutory matters and assisting with client queries.
Irina has experience in the financial services sector which she gained during previous roles with two major banks in her home country of Russia.
She holds degrees in Banking and Finance and is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Irina likes to swap from skiing gloves to gardening gloves – when she isn’t tending to her garden and home-grown vegetables, she can be found on the slopes skiing.

Nathan joined the Compliance and Risk Department in July 2006. The Department is responsible for providing support and guidance to the company on regulatory matters, anti-money laundering and risk management.
Prior to joining Abacus, Nathan spent four years with the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission where he gained extensive experience of the Isle of Man’s regulatory environment.
Nathan holds a BA Hons degree in Philosophy and has completed the ICA International Diploma in Compliance and the CISI Investment Operations Certificate.
Nathan takes the comp from compliance and puts it in competition. Always up for a challenge, Nathan has successfully climbed Kilimanjaro and took part in the Jersey 2015 Island Games at which he won a bronze medal in pistol shooting.
With over 20 years accounting experience, Amanda leads the Abacus client accounting function, where she is responsible for reviewing and preparing Company, Trust and Fund accounts.
Prior to joining Abacus, Amanda spent 16 years as an accountant with an offshore bank.
She is currently completing qualifications with the Association of Taxation Technicians and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Marta has experience in the management of events, media relations and press releases, social networks development and social media strategy, as well as implementation of National and International promotional strategies.
Prior to joining Abacus, Marta worked as Digital Marketing and Communication Assistant at IICUAE, Italian Industry and Commerce office in UAE, and then at ENIT Dubai, the Italian State Tourist Board where she was responsible for marketing projects for Italy and for the ‘Made in Italy’ brand.
Marta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, a Master’s in Marketing and International Business, and an extended range of high level qualifications in SEO, web marketing, social media management, brand reputation and market analysis.
Marta’s greatest passions are travelling and experiencing different cultures. For this reason, she learnt Arabic and Hindi languages and loves ethnic cuisines.
Stephen has worked in Financial Services for more than 25 years. He started his career in commodity futures and quickly moved on to financial futures where he became a successful Futures and Options Trader in London.
Stephen moved into fiduciary work in 2004 and aspired to continue this career in a well-regulated and respected jurisdiction and therefore moved to the Isle of Man in 2006.
At Abacus Trust Company, Stephen is responsible for Business Development working alongside marketing and the Board of Directors. New innovative ideas as well as top class traditional services through promotion and the development of professional relationships are key elements of his role.
Stephen has completed five marathons and continues to enjoying jogging. He also enjoys DIY, watching movies and reading.
Lorraine supervises the workload of the finance team and is primarily responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and reports, controlling processes in respect of cash, income and expense transactions and processing and reviewing internal and external payroll.
Prior to joining Abacus, Lorraine spent 14 years with one of the Island’s premier banks where she worked in a number of finance roles, becoming a key member of the management team. During this time Lorraine developed a wealth of knowledge in purchase ledgers, payroll, treasury and reconciliations.
Lorraine is an integral member of Abacus’ Corporate Responsibility and Social Committees. Abacus’ answer to Delia Smith, Lorraine is also a keen baker and is popular among colleagues for her culinary contributions during Abacus’ charity cake sales… ‘Lo’s Lemon Drizzle!’… Mmm!
Sian provides assistance to the Finance department including preparation of accounts and reconciliations, invoices and cheques, banking and purchase ledgers.
She also assists HR in the maintenance of staff files, in house HR database, and recruitment and leaver administration. She is also involved in the processing of payroll and assisting the company benefits administration.
Sian is a qualified Bookkeeper and also holds a diploma and certificate in Administration.
Prior to joining Abacus, Sian spent 4 years working for a local recruitment agency.
Sian enjoys an array of pastimes including photography, music, painting and drawing. Mixed with her love for travelling and learning of different cultures, she always has a ready made palette of inspiration for her next creation.
Helen provides general office assistance to the business. Her responsibilities range from organising and distributing post, to general filing and reception duties.
She is also Abacus’ point of contact with local providers in the management and stock of office supplies.
Helen enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, however when looking for some time to herself she loves nothing more than her annual cruise with her husband.

Simon co-manages the delivery of IT development projects and is responsible for the development and enhancement of Abacus’ bespoke in-house systems and providing integration with third party systems. He also conducts system reviews and produces system documentation and maintains and supports the current environment for our systems.
Prior to joining Abacus in 2005, Simon worked as a Senior Consultant at a software consultancy providing services to the life assurance industry and as a programmer working in the railway industry, developing and supporting maintenance, operations and timetabling systems.
Simon is a Member of the Institute of Analysts and Programmers and holds a degree in Accounting and Financial Management and Mathematics.
Simon enjoys walking in his spare time – whether he fancies a challenging ramble or a leisurely stroll, lucky for him the Island offers footpaths a plenty.
Craig provides IT support to the business, maintaining hardware, software and supporting staff. He also supports and administers the businesses telecoms, server and network infrastructure and is involved in IT project management.
Prior to joining Abacus, Craig worked as a Technical Engineer for an IT Support Analyst, where he was responsible for multi-site and multi-client end user support, desktop maintenance and software testing.
Craig is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Solutions Associate and Technology Specialist.
Working with computers and gadgets just never gets boring for this technology enthusiast – who can often be found on a computer outside of work too. He also enjoys swimming and walking.
