"I am purchasing an aircraft, what ownership structures should I consider"

When buying an aircraft, the last thing you want to be worrying about is how it will be owned and operated in the future.  Whilst the operation is likely to be handled by a licensed operator, it is rare for the aircraft to be owned directly by an individual.  There are a number of reasons for this, including limitation of liability if anything unfortunate were to happen, or the desire to generate income from third party use of the aircraft.

Although it’s difficult to say that there is a single ownership structure which suits everyone’s needs, in our experience the use of a limited company, either held directly by you or by another vehicle (such as a trust, company or partnership), provides the best structure.

In addition to establishing your company, Abacus provides experienced directors who ensure that the company is managed efficiently and effectively.
