Stewart Fleming CA, STEP - Director
Stewart joined Coopers & Lybrand Isle of Man in January 1993 (which Abacus was part of) and became an Abacus Director and Coopers & Lybrand partner in 1995.
At the time of the Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse merger in 1998 Stewart became a PwC Partner, but retired from the PwC partnership at the end of 1999, continuing only as an Abacus Director thereafter. Stewart heads up the tax team, and a trust and corporate service team.
Stewart is a Scottish Chartered Accountant and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Stewart's specialisation is taxation and he started his career with the Inland Revenue. Thereafter he joined Ernst and Young Glasgow and qualified as a Chartered Accountant, moving to London in 1988 where he remained until the end of 1992. Stewart has 30 years taxation experience, with particular emphasis on the taxation of individuals, and offshore trusts and companies.
